Our structured training workshop will address:
- How data centre project risks change throughout the development lifecycle;
- How your contracting approach and the nuances of your project(s) affects those risks;
- What insurance solutions may be available to help manage financial protection against these risks; What these policies typically cover, and who they are designed to protect? What is standard practice within the data centre industry? How and when should these be considered within your contracting strategy?
- Which insurances and other associated documents may be required to support lenders’ conditions and help establish a bankable insurance programme and;
- What the future holds for the data centre developments and how this is expected to affect the project risks and insurance landscape?
This workshop is targeted at a beginner to intermediary level to ensure accessibility, but we would suggest that all interested parties will find value in this structured approach. There will, of course, also be opportunities to connect with other attendees performing similar roles within the data sector industry.

Our Specialist Team
Stuart Freeman
Stuart has worked across a number of global insurance advisory and broking firms, with most of his 20 years’ experience focused on large and complex international project placements and open-cover construction facilities. He has advised data centre clients for over a decade, delivered training webinars, and produced a range of advisory papers on technical insurance topics specific to data centre developments.
Stuart holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and has been a Chartered Insurance Broker for almost 20 years. In 2025, he worked with the International Association of Engineering Insurers (IMIA) to produce a paper analysing the impact of climate change on critical infrastructure.
Clare Stephens
Clare is a specialist data centre insurance advisor and has advised on, designed, and placed more than 10 data centre projects totalling in excess of USD30bn over the last 24 months. She has worked both as a broker and as a Lenders’ Insurance Advisor, giving her firsthand experience in providing direct due diligence advice to lenders and collaborating with placing brokers through to financial close on global data centre projects.
Clare also advises on a range of power sector projects, which has become increasingly valuable for data centre clients as they look to incorporate power elements into future developments. She holds a degree in Modern Languages and speaks fluent French and Spanish.
Stuart Fatt
Stuart has more than 30 years’ experience, specialising in placing insurance for major international construction projects. Much of his expertise lies in the construction and operation of power generation projects and complex process industries.
Working primarily on behalf of principals and project owners, Stuart specialises in all elements of project insurance programme design, including complex Delay in Start Up modelling, Operational Material Damage, and Machinery Breakdown. After graduating from university, he joined the insurance industry and has since worked across a number of global broking firms, including spending several years based in Asia. Stuart also holds an Advanced Diploma in Insurance from the Insurance Institute of London.
